"Throughout my artistic journey, I have always used music to inspire my artwork, serving as both a muse and medium in my creative exploration. For years I have worked as an artist for a small business that sells Grateful Dead merch, each design meticulously created based off of the lyrics of a particular Grateful Dead song. My inspiration for this piece comes from the countless hours I spent in the office listening through collections of vintage Grateful Dead mixtapes, as I carefully analyze the lyrics to come up with an image. The mixtape, with its carefully curated selection of tracks, serves as a portal to moments frozen in time, each song a chapter in the story of personal and shared experiences."

As an individual who grew up surrounded by art and pursued it in college, Ella Cummings’ artistic journey has been shaped by a diverse range of influences. Her work is a unique fusion of art and music, life experiences and inspiration from the artists in her family. She loves to create with all types of media, with an emphasis on drawing and painting. Different media allow her to express herself in various ways. Ella’s artistic evolution reflects the fusion of her passions and experiences.Ìý
